Entry Level 3 ICT for Beginners

The programme focuses on providing a broad range of basic digital skills. It is suitable if you:

  • Have little or no prior experience in using digital devices or the internet
  • Wish to gain digital skills for specific work, life or study purposes
  • Require basic skills to provide personal information to government agencies and utility companies
  • Would like to have a digital presence and communicate with family, friends, peers and colleagues who live at a distance.

This qualification will provide you with the knowledge and skills to:

  • Develop essential digital skills necessary for work, life and further study
  • Interact with digital devices and handle information appropriately
  • Create, edit and store digital content
  • Share content and communicate effectively using digital devices
  • Develop transacting skills necessary for work and life
  • Be safe, confident and responsible online

Assessment This assessment comprises of 3 distinct methods:

  • Observation Tasks
  • Practical Assessment delivered through html
  • Multiple choice questions delivered on a secure platform

All of the above will be marked online. The marks from the practical assessments and the online knowledge test will be awarded as a final accumulative mark as either pass or did not achieve. This qualification provides progression onto:

  • Ascentis Level 1 Award in Essential Digital Skills for Work and Life

Entry 2 Functional skills in Maths

Entry 3 functional skills in English

All applicants will be required to undertake a Digital Initial assessment

Making your application

We will check your application to see if you meet the standard entry requirements for the course. If you do, you’ll receive an invitation via email to attend an interview with a Curriculum Tutor.

Fees and funding

If you are aged 16-18 and applying for a full-time programme, then you will not have to pay for your course. If you are aged 19+ then there may be a fee for your course.
