Entry Level 1 & 2 in Functional Skills English
These English groups are friendly and are designed for you to improve your practical English skills. You will be screened to determine your own personal level and an individual learning plan will be drawn up.
The English course can help with reading, writing, speaking and listening skills; letter writing, form-filling, punctuation and spelling.
All English courses are designed to develop your basic English skills. Your progress will be reviewed regularly and feedback is given during confidential one-to-one meetings. When you are ready, there will be the opportunity to take a test for a nationally recognised functional skills qualification at your level – from Entry 1 to Level 2.
Adult classes are 3 hours a week and run in the morning, afternoon and evening and taught at both our City and Henley campuses.
No formal qualifications are needed but you will be individually assessed to determine your level of study when you come to enrol.
Making your application
We will check your application to see if you meet the standard entry requirements for the course. If you do, you’ll receive an invitation via email to attend an interview with a Curriculum Tutor.
Fees and funding
If you are aged 16-18 and applying for a full-time programme, then you will not have to pay for your course. If you are aged 19+ then there may be a fee for your course.
From entry-level qualifications, through to degree-level and specialist professional courses there’s something here for students with little or no formal education right up to career high-flyers. Expect a vibrant environment where you can meet people from different backgrounds and cultures.
