Meet Yasin Miah, a dedicated and enthusiastic student who has made remarkable progress in his journey towards a career in the performing arts. A former student of Lyng Hall High School, Yasin is currently in his second year of studying Musical Theatre at Coventry College, where he continues to hone his craft and build a solid foundation for his future.
Yasin’s experience at Coventry College has been incredibly eye-opening and enriching. Reflecting on his time in the course, he shares, “My course has extremely hardworking students and teachers, and it has opened my eyes when it comes to areas I need to improve on to become better as a student, and as a person.” The rigorous training and comprehensive curriculum have played a significant role in Yasin’s personal and professional development.
Yasin has achieved notable milestones during his time at Coventry College. “I have been part of four plays whilst I did Level 3 Acting before I switched to Musical Theatre, and I was happy and privileged to be learner rep for two years in a row.” His achievements are a testament to his dedication and the supportive environment fostered by the college.
The supportive staff at Coventry College have been instrumental in Yasin’s growth. “The teachers would be an essential part of our course, as you learn a lot from them about your coursework, mental health, lifestyle choices etc.,” he explains. Yasin feels safe and secure, knowing he is in an environment where he can thrive without any difficulty.
Yasin describes his time at Coventry College as a unique and transformative experience. “My time in college has been very unique for me, as I have grown as a person in the long run. I have learned a lot about myself personally and professionally by being in the college environment,” he shares. The blend of academic and practical learning has equipped him with the skills and confidence needed to excel in the performing arts industry.
Looking ahead, Yasin plans to continue his education by enrolling in the HNC course in Acting at Coventry College. He aims to further develop his skills and prepare himself for drama school in the future. “I want to improve upon myself in every way possible until I am prepared to join a drama school in the future to continue my training in Musical Theatre,” Yasin says.
The HNC Musical Theatre course at Coventry College is a full-time, one-year programme designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary for a successful career in the Performing Arts Industry.
