Studied: Level 3 Diploma in Dance & Musical Theatre
Former learner Tia Bates talks to us about how her experience at Coventry College has prepared her for a future in Performance.

“Studying Level 3 Musical Theatre at Coventry College has been a great experience for me and has helped me secure a place at Addict Dance Academy, a leading dance education provider in the Midlands.
The course at Coventry has significantly enhanced my dance skills, making me stronger and more flexible, which has been invaluable for my jazz technique. Despite starting with no singing experience, I have learned to pick up harmonies and sing in tune, while the acting component has taught me to embody diverse characters.
Among my proudest achievements at college are becoming the assistant choreographer, where I had the responsibility of creating choreography for our shows and being named dance captain twice in a row.
The camaraderie and sense of family within the course are what make it truly special. We share laughs and support each other, creating a joyful and collaborative environment. Hollie Smith, one of our teachers was always approachable and supportive – she fostered a family-like atmosphere. Our teachers, Sean Brady and Simon Williams, bring humour and enjoyment to our lessons, making our time at college both educational and fun.
The staff at Coventry College are exceptionally supportive, always available to help and treat us with the respect and consideration of adults. Their encouragement and guidance have been pivotal in my development.
Looking ahead I am excited to continue my training at Addict Dance Academy, with aspirations of securing jobs in the industry.
To future students, my advice is that you don’t need to be exceptional in singing, dancing, and acting from the start. As long as you have strength in one area, Coventry College can help you improve the others. If you have the passion, work hard and always give your best.
Coventry College has been an incredible journey for me, filled with growth, learning, and unforgettable memories.”
