Billy Kane
Studied: Level 3 Diploma in Games Development (Art & Design)
Billy studied Games Development at Coventry College, where he spent two years honing his skills. He came away from college with D*D*D* and a deep understanding of the games industry. After completing a degree and master’s qualification at university, he went onto work for the BAFTA award winning agency Supermassive Games as a Designer and now works for Awe Interactive as a Technical Designer.
Industry Focus
Reflecting on his time at Coventry College, Billy said:

The practical nature of the course, coupled with opportunities for work experience set Billy on a path toward success.
After completing his studies at Coventry College, Billy pursued his passion further by enrolling at Staffordshire University. Over the course of three years, he continued to excel in his studies, graduating with a first-class degree. His hard work and dedication did not go unnoticed. In recognition of his outstanding performance, Billy was awarded the prestigious title of Graduate of the Year by The Independent Games Developers Association, an accolade that highlights his remarkable talent and potential in the industry.
With a desire to further his knowledge and expertise in game design, he applied master’s in Games Design at Teesside University, where he graduated with a distinction.
Career Progression
Following his master’s, Billy began networking with recruiters, primarily through LinkedIn. His proactive approach paid off quickly when he started conversations with a recruiter from Supermassive Games, a BAFTA award winning agency, known for games like Until Dawn, The Quarry, and The Dark Pictures Anthology. Billy’s impressive portfolio and academic qualification helped him navigate the interview process with ease, and by November 2022, he had secured a role as a Designer at the studio.
His experience at Supermassive has given him hands-on opportunities to contribute to projects with high visibility and complex design demands. He credits the strong foundation he built during his time at Coventry College for helping him navigate these challenges with confidence and skill.

Billy has recently taken up the position of Technical Designer at Awe Interactive, a UK based games developer.
