Coventry College Launches City Of Culture Changemakers Channel
The College has launched a brand new social media channel as a central platform for young people to celebrate everything good about Coventry.
Instagram platform @ChangeMakersCoventry intends to showcase ideas, photography and artwork during a momentous year for the city.
The aim is to create a digital space which encourages and inspires Coventry’s young creatives, artists, thinkers, thought leaders, entrepreneurs and change makers of tomorrow to have their say.
Learners at the College and members of the wider Coventry community are being encouraged to submit content for the channel which is hoped will capture the imagination of people in the city and beyond.
Whether it’s stand-out artwork, video footage of learners in a music band or showcasing their performance talent or eye-catching photography captured around the city – all content is welcome.
Gemma Knott, Vice Principal for Business Growth, Engagement and Partnerships, is excited about the channel.
Gemma said: “@ChangeMakersCoventry is just one of the exciting initiatives that we are launching to mark this historic year for our staff, learners and the Coventry community.
“This new Instagram platform is devoted specifically to the City of Culture year and we’re hoping that it will become a focal point and inspiration for all our learners, staff and local people on our doorstep.
‘We want people to share their thoughts, stories and creativity and whatever matters most to them about the place where they live, work and study.”
The College will share regular updates and information about other City of Culture event plans and opportunities on the channel.
Gemma added: “We want people to become the change makers, inspire others and be inspired themselves.
“To do this and to make this channel a success, we need people to build a 2021 community and platform which celebrates the city today and looks ahead to an exciting future beyond this year.”
