British Airways Senior Cabin Crew Inspires Travel and Tourism Students

Travel and Tourism students at Coventry College recently welcomed a special industry guest as part of their cabin crew training.
Sam Jackson, Senior Cabin Crew at British Airways, visited the College to deliver a live industry briefing to Level 2 Cabin Crew learners, giving students a valuable insight into life working in the aviation industry.
During the session, Sam shared her professional experience and spoke to students about the high standards expected of cabin crew, including the importance of punctuality, professionalism, and teamwork. She also covered key topics such as pre-flight briefings, handling disruptive passengers, understanding different passenger needs and maintaining excellent customer service throughout a flight.
Students also learned about potential career pathways within aviation, including how to apply for cabin crew roles and opportunities within education pilot programmes. Sam also gave learners a behind-the-scenes look at a typical day in the life of cabin crew, helping them better understand what the role involves.
The session was highly interactive, with students embracing the opportunity to ask questions, take part in discussions and demonstrate their knowledge and enthusiasm for the industry.
To recognise outstanding participation and engagement throughout the session, several students were awarded “First Class Passenger” prizes, with luxury gifts kindly provided by The White Company and Liberty London.
Staff described the visit as an amazing and inspiring experience for learners, giving them real-world insight from an experienced aviation professional while helping them develop the skills and knowledge needed for future careers in travel and tourism.
