Brand-new courses designed to upskill the Coventry, Warwickshire and West Midlands workforce and equip relevant industries with the ability to do business digitally will be available from the end of this month.

Coventry College has announced a new adult education provision that aims to unlock the potential of professionals across the region by boosting their proficiency in digital media through short, expert-led courses.

These short courses, which are being supported by the Coventry and Warwickshire Adult Learning (CWAL) Skills Accelerator Fund, will be available from May 2022, with an employer event taking place on Thursday, May 19 from 5pm to 7.30pm.

The event, which will be held at the College, will give guests a sneak preview of the courses, which are available to anyone over the age of 19, as well as the new hi-tech classrooms where they will be delivered. Places can be booked by emailing [email protected].

The Optimise Your Future courses include Digital Marketing (3 days); Event Management (2 days); Digital Graphics (2 days); Social Media Management (half day); Microsoft Office Basics (half day); 3D Modelling (3 days); and two courses offered via Coventry College’s leading Esports division, Games Development and Esports Coaching (3 days).

Shoubna Naika-Taylor, Curriculum Manager for Digital at Coventry College, said: “Optimise Your Future is all about using the wealth of expertise at Coventry College and channelling that back into the local workforce to ensure the region has the best tools at its disposal to take advantage of the modern way we all do business.

“The courses have been designed specifically to supply workers with the skills and knowledge to access new ways of working or grow their expertise in a specific area, such as digital marketing and event management.

“Two of our courses offer a gateway in to and a chance to stand out in a massive global industry – with Coventry College establishing itself as a leader in Esports education over the last few years.

“We would love to see friends, colleagues, and new faces from across the region joining us at our employer event on May 19, as we have spent a lot of time behind the scenes pulling this provision together. We can’t wait to get started.”
