Some of our GCSE Stars

Coventry College students collected their GCSE results on Thursday 24th August, here are just a few of the stories behind the results.

George Higginson

George Higginson

Well done George for receiving your Level 5 (C/B) for Maths and Level 6 (B) for English. George is currently working as a Training Assistant at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Primary School in Coventry. He intends to further his education so that he can be a fully qualified teacher for his future career.

Sarah Hogan

Sarah Hogan

Well done Sarah for receiving your Level 8 (A) in English. Sarah originally took the English GCSE to set her daughter an example and also show her that it’s never too late to learn.

She wants to continue with her education and is looking at a range of options before she enrols onto a new course.

Antony Bonsell

Antony Bonsell

Well done Antony for receiving your Level 6 (B) in English and Level 5 (C/B) in Maths. Antony left the army after 15 years of service and needed qualifications. He intends to further his education by doing a combined Engineering Degree.

Piotr Bukala

Piotr Bukala

Well done Piotr for receiving your Level 9 (A*) in Maths. Piotr already has a polish Master’s Degree and has taken his GCSE Maths to enhance his skills. He wants to further his education by doing either a Science or IT course.

Khadijatu Nyei

Khadijatu Nyei

Well done Khadijatu for receiving your Level 6 (B) in English. During her time at the College she was given the most Resilient Award because Khadijatu was knocked back so many times with health problems, so much so, she signed herself out of hospital two days before her GCSE exam.

Khadijatu wants to continue her education by doing an Access course and then wants to go to University. She enjoys writing and wants to have a career where she can continue to do this.

Lizzy Dunning

Lizzy Dunning

Well done Lizzy for your Level 6 (B) in English and Level 4 (C) in maths. Lizzy needed to pass her GCSEs in order to continue her Early Childhood Development and Learning Degree at Coventry University. Lizzy’s achievement is all the more remarkable because at School she was never encouraged by her teachers and I was always told she would never pass.

Freddie Wong

Well done Freddie who received top marks with a Level 9 (A*). Freddie studied English to improve his career prospects as well as proving to himself he was capable of doing it.

Adam Ford

Adam Ford

Well done Adam for his Level 7 (A) for English. Adam also completed his Access to Science course at the College and will now be studying Dietetics and Human Nutrition BSc (Hons) at Coventry University.
