SafeGuard Equipment Donation

SafeGuard Clothing donated one of its premium bullet resistant vests to Coventry College.

The company donated safety equipment in the form of a bulletproof carrier from its own range. The donation was made as part of SafeGuard’s initiative to partner with local and regional colleges to promote education and awareness of safety. The leading manufacturer of premium body armour has made it a mission to improve the education base of institutions and help them offer better practical experience to students enrolled in Public Service courses.

Coventry College is the latest education institution in the line of many to receive a donation from SafeGuard Clothing.  The donated bullet resistant vest puts the focus on the importance of safety and protecting the lives of law enforcement and military operatives. In the light of the increasing number of terrorist attacks, urban crime, random assaults and shooting incidents, it’s becoming necessary to educate students at college level on the importance and use of body armour. Vital information that can improve safety awareness and survival rates amongst Public Service officials includes knowledge of new materials used in the design of bullet resistant vests, correct size and carrier type selection and fit, and updated NIJ standards.

The donation from the international tactical body armour and safety equipment distributor will be used for demonstrations in the Public Services course of the college. SafeGuard Clothing’s bullet resistant vest will educate students on the working mechanics behind the design and structure of tactical armour.

“We are pleased to assist Coventry College in the improvement of their Public Service course and the donation of one of our bullet proof vests aims to expand on the learning experience of students” says SafeGuard Clothing Communications Manager Thomas Bowman. The brand is known for its strong commitment to industry standards and innovative development – something that colleagues partnering with the company will surely benefit from. Both SafeGuard and Coventry College are interested in raising awareness amongst students about industry best practices, safety equipment standards and mechanics.

Such partnerships are greatly beneficial to our students as they provide access to an industry leader’s expertise and technology advancement, enriching their learning experience. The use of SafeGuard’s bullet proof vest in Coventry College’s Public Service course demonstrates the working mechanics behind staying safe in the line of work that involves daily risks.
