Patience is the key to success for Tichaona

Tichaona Chinoda left school and started on a Health and Social Care course. He then switched to a Coventry United course but decided that wasn’t for him either so he returned to Coventry College to join the Re engagement programme. He says “The course helped me focus on my English and maths, I met new people and my confidence grew”

Tich is now studying for a level 2 Sports course and he says “I enjoy the practical parts of the course and I want to progress to a pre access course in Health and then go to university to study Physiotherapy”

Tich has taken an active part in college life and has been a College Ambassador for two years and is also on the student executive as events manager. He has set up a monthly movie club for students in his new role and is planning a large trip at the end of the year.

Tich recommends doing the Re engagement programme as he says “You also get a chance to help others, I helped out with the Coventry Foodbank and I felt I was making a difference”

If you are still not sure what career you want to do Tich’s advice is “Don’t rush your thoughts take your time until you know what study programme you want to do. Patience is key”
