Apprentice of the Year Awards 2018

Could you be Apprentice of the Year 2018?


The City of Coventry Freemen’s Guild are looking for talented young people to enter this year’s Apprentice of the Year awards.

The awards are open to all apprentices/trainees who are undertaking a contracted training programme linked to a recognised career path during the academic year September 2017 to July 2018.

Entry Criteria

Applications need to be completed and returned to by Friday 30th November.


The Awards

A maximum of six finalists will be selected – three from organisations with 200 or fewer employees, and three from employers with more than 200 employees.

The finalists will be invited for interview on Tuesday 15th January 2019.

All of the six finalists will be invited to the Apprentice of the Year Awards Dinner on the evening of Tuesday 29th January 2019 in the historic St Mary’s Guild Hall.

The winners of the Small/Medium Employer Apprentice of the Year and the Large Employer Apprentice of the Year will each receive a cheque for £1000 as well as a trophy and certificate.

The four remaining finalists will receive a cheque for £100 as well as a trophy and certificate.

There is also an Endeavour Award, which is a discretionary award the judging panel can award for exceptional achievement for example through civic participation, voluntary work and/or overcoming a difficult challenge in life. The winner of this award will receive a cheque for £100 together with a trophy and a certificate.

How to Apply

Applications can be submitted by either the candidate themselves or by the company or training provider on behalf of a candidate.

In either situation the application MUST be endorsed by an authorised person from the organisation or training provider. You need to submit applications to by Sunday 2nd December.
