Double Success for Coventry College Fashion Student

Level 3 National Diploma in Fashion

Two of City Campuses fashion students have had a fantastic first year at the college and we welcome them back to complete their National Diploma in Fashion course in September.

Daniel Simonov

Daniel has worked hard throughout the first year of his fashion BTEC level 3 course, achieving Distinction grades in most of the units he has taken.

Originally from Bulgaria, Daniel is a mature student who moved to the UK to study fashion and has a real talent for design and garment construction. Daniel always puts 100 % effort into his work and is creative with his ideas and developments. He has the ability to adapt a 2D concept and make it into a 3D reality.

Daniel is not only studying fashion at Coventry College, he is also taking his GCSE English as he wants to improve upon his English skills to enhance his job prospects in the future. Originally an ESOL student Daniel has come a long way in fulfilling his dream of working in the fashion world. Daniel hopes to go to university next year and has ambitions of moving to London to be in the centre of the fashion capital, where he hopes to broaden his knowledge and understanding of fashion.

Daniel exited year 1 with D*D* Grades and we are looking forward to welcoming him back into year 2 were we hope he will achieve D* Grades overall.

Sana Zubair:
Sana is mature student who came to study fashion with us last year. Sana had a difficult year as she fell pregnant quite early on in the course. After a long and difficult pregnancy she gave birth to a baby boy Adam.

However despite being in hospital for most of her pregnancy she still managed to complete the course. With help and support from her tutors Emma and Justin and communication through email and telephone we were able to assist Sana in the completion of her qualification for Year 1.

Sana came back into college towards the end of her pregnancy to complete the pattern cutting and garment construction side of the course and we are extremely proud of the effort and achievement that Sana has made throughout this difficult time. Through hard work and dedication we are pleased to say Sana exited Year 1 with an overall grade of D*D*.
