Level 2 Principles of COSHH

Principles of COSHH is a stand-alone level 2 qualification, which complements the CIEH Health and Safety programme. It is aimed at those who use substance hazardous to health at work and introduces students to the hazards associated with those substances, the risks and controls available and what to expect from a COSHH assessment.

This qualification is ideal for anyone in a supervisory, team leader or managerial role. This new qualification is designed to help improve the workplace culture for occupational health and safety by enabling learners to understand the basic principles of risk.

Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid

This qualification is designed for those learners wishing to become a paediatric first aider in the workplace with a responsibility for the welfare of infants and children. Learners gaining this qualification will know that first aid is the responsibility of everyone involved in the working environment.

Topics within this qualification meet the requirements for Paediatric first aid outlined in the Early Years Foundation Stage 2014 as being important to maintaining safe and effective practice when providing treatment of injuries and ill health of infants and children who are under the care of trained personnel.

Fire Marshal Practical Workshop

The workshop is designed to give guidance on the responsibilities of a Fire Marshal and how to perform their duties and give an awareness of the fire safety procedures within the University. Guidance will be given on how to select and use extinguishers in case of fire, including practical demonstration.

First Aid Annual Refresher

This update course provides you with an opportunity to practice and update your skills during your three year period as a qualified first aider.

The HSE highly recommend that qualified first aiders attend a 3 hour skills up-date workshop during the first and second year of the First Aid at Work certificate.

Level 2 Awards in Food Safety

It is essential for food safety that all food handlers are aware of the hazards and controls associated with the types of food they produce. Every year, many people are made ill and some even die as a result of eating contaminated food. Food businesses have a legal and moral obligation to ensure they are not contributing to these statistics.

Whatever the type of food being produced, controls must be put in place to ensure all types of contamination and temperature abuse are either eliminated completely or controlled to ensure safety.
